Anthony Nunes, PhD, is the Director of Strategic Partnerships for the Real-World Evidence Practice at the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute and a faculty member in the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

His work focuses on pharmacoepidemiology and real-world evidence studies evaluating the safety, effectiveness, and use of medical products using large healthcare data sources. His work has supported regulatory requirements through REMS evaluation and PMR/PMC/PASS evidence generation.

Dr. Nunes has expertise in designing and implementing epidemiologic investigations in real-world data, including studies using administrative claims, electronic health records, and distributed research networks. His research includes the application of machine learning, natural language processing, and advanced analytic methods to improve the identification of exposures and outcomes in healthcare data.

Before joining the Department of Population Medicine in 2025, Dr. Nunes was a faculty member at UMass Chan Medical School. He has prior experience working as a research epidemiologist leading real-world evidence studies for life science companies.
